I heard of Dawkins, yes. Still you might find Christien O Brien interesting. He pointed out the Hebrew word for "God" (Elohim) is grammatically plural. It means "the gods" created the heavens (or higher land) and the earth. Genesis appears to have originated from Sumerian creation epics and the Sumerians were polytheistic, not monotheistic. The clue also is "let us make man in our image" which suggests the translation of "God" for Elohim was wrong. "God" appears to have been a number of personalities from Sumerian creation mythology but all condensed to one figure - Yaweh. Abraham by the way was Sumerian. So, the whole thing has been lost in history to create a disorganised mess of borrowings. According to O Brien, God was an advanced race of people who taught knowledge to the Sumerians but the Hebrews thought it far simpler to just condense to one God, probably to avoid idolatory (even human sacrifices) amongst the nomadic tribes.

It's been a good day for "the birdhouse project" despite the usual need to down tools and flee for shelter from downpours.
These projects of mine are always obsessive. Once I get an idea to do something it gets obsessive. Still, the birdbox now has a sloped roof and is as solid as a rock. It's really a bit over-kill because what we have now goes a bit beyond what a small bird gets from the shops - it's more like a garden shed in miniature.

Dawkins attacks Yahweh as a nasty piece of work. Platonism also dismantles the Yaweh or Jehova image of God because in Platonism only demons experience emotions and passions. So, given Yaweh gets jealous, has rages, meltdowns and makes mistakes, he can't even be "a god". The Yaweh portrayal is pretty ridiculous since what we see is a bullying, nasty control freak who blunders in " his" creation attempts. Plato's God is similar to Einstein's conception.

Quiet Voice has re-emerged but will she ever get off those crazy websites and read real scientific books or history? I tend to imagine Q.V.s sources as nine-bellied, hamburger guzzling Americans who are mostly neurotic and get zillions of "likes" for their fantasy theories. I just had the usual "friends recommendations" on Facebook - all very patronising, I think. It's like Infantile language aimed at young children, rather than adults.
