I was so sorry to learn of Linda's death last September, having at one time been a volunteer for her giant tortoise research in the Galápagos Islands. She was good-hearted and had a wicked sense of humour while being totally devoted to her work.

I've had many addresses since then and been all over the world several times, while until her retirement in 2020 Linda was still doing everything she could to preserve natural giant tortoise and iguana populations in the islands.

I like to think of her reunited with Lonesome George, who predeceased her by 10 years.
