Fulgurator, this Apuleius of whom you write seems like a wise man indeed.
even Candid has run out of patience
You've been more patient than I. On UF quietvoice would have been reported and cautioned for her tediously repetitive insults, and if she persisted would have been banned and all posts removed.
Unfortunately 9monthquit deserted us soon after setting up this forum

I think the Neo-Platonists got there before E. Bleuler who outlined Schizophrenia. Bleuler stated that schizophrenics had an overwhelming dependency on "desired reality" that they used to substitute actual reality. A withdrawn world of fantasy. Meantime, Plato divided the mind into (1) cognitive knowledge, (2) anger and (3) desire. Therefore, the mind destabilises when either anger or desire control logic of bias thought processes. We all experience this but some people lose all perspective of rationality.
So, let's again apply that to Quiet Voice:
Her withdrawn world is controlled by a reality created in her mind by anger and desired reality. In this world she is convinced she has found a simple explanation for the troubles of the world. In Quiet Voice's world, good or bad people are determined not by culture, education or upbringing but purely by race alone. As Charles Manson blamed black people and sought a race war (Helter Skelter) Q.V. is convinced her own target race is malignant.
Very basic logic tells us all races have moral or evil people. As simple as that is, Quiet Voice cannot comprehend it but blots out whatever might challenge the view she chose. Her preferred reality. Plus, ethically, we can see Q.V. can hardly be called "virtuous". Malignant narcissm is never a bed of roses.
To repeat, anger and desired reality dominates how Q.V. reasons.
What ought to be worrying is that, at this point, she suggests a potential for criminality - very common to see huge meltdowns in America these days. I do know quite a bit about psychotic disorders or psychopathy but I'm not at all good at the treatment side.
